Local airline Africa World Airlines (AWA) has clarified recent reports surrounding the exit of its former Chief Operations Officer Apiigy Afenu.
[contextly_sidebar id=”WxY3ahhIrNumew6CI3MQdRupLv7W8lJw”]Citi Business News had earlier reported that Apiigy Afenu had resigned from the local airline following a rift between one of the airline’s directors and the co-founder of AWA Togbe Afede over some financial disagreements.
But a statement from the airline stated that it was not the case.
According to the statement allegations that Apiigy Afenu’s exit from the airline was due to a disagreement on financial matters between him and Togbe Afede was totally false and no rift existed between the two over any financial disagreements.
Meanwhile the airline has also denied earlier reports that Apiigy Afenu resigned from the company.
According to the airline it exercised its right to terminate the contract of Apiigy Afenu stating that Mr Afenu never tendered a resignation letter to AWA.
