The acting Managing Director of HFC bank, Anthony Jordan has paid a courtesy call on president Nana Addo after taking over from former MD of the bank, Robert Le Hunte.
Mr. Jordan also used the opportunity to explain details of the first Caribbean Trade Mission ongoing in Accra.
“Mr. President I am happy to inform you that we have here at Flagstaff House renowned investors and business men and women from the Caribbean for the Trade Mission which started this morning and will come to an end on Thursday 28th September”.
The Trade Mission has over 30 companies and institutions including business people, investors, policy makers and industry leaders from Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Barbados and Surinam with interest ranging from oil and gas, manufacturing, Education, distribution and other sectors.
He added, “We are here to let you know that we are delivering our promise, your excellency with our promise our main objective is to support your agenda of a private sector driven economy by using our presence both in the Caribbean and in Ghana to facilitate long term trade and investments.
The three day summit is under the theme “Promoting Trade and Investments, Ghana and the Caribbean” and includes expert presentations on the various business topics and networking sessions”
Mr. Jordan also expressed optimism that the summit would provide positive results for the benefit of the economy.
“Unlike many summits we have experienced in the past, this summit has an already planned match-making segment where related businesses from the Caribbean and Ghana have been paired to have private discussions on doing business. Delegates will have the opportunity to learn from extraordinary nationally and internationally acknowledged companies through the matchmaking sessions”.
He added “I have every confidence about the success of this maiden summit. I have no doubt that we will finish this summit with your expectations met and the required partnerships to invest in Ghana”.
