The three Members of Parliament, seeking to stop the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) from securing a $700 million dollar loan would appeal the dismissal of their injunction application by an Accra fast track high court, before close of week.

This is according to one of the applicants, MP for Abuakwa South Constituency Samuel Atta Akyea.

According to the presiding judge Justice Mrs. Bartels-Kodwo the MPs could not establish a prima facie case against the GNPC.

According to the MPs , GNPC illegally side-stepped Parliament in the processes to secure the loan facility.

But in an interview with Citi Business News Mr. Atta Akyea said he had serious concerns with the decision of the Court.

“The rest of the litigants are not here, we will converge and most probably instruct them to do something about this, we will fetch the decision shortly and by the close of the week we should lodge an appeal”, he stressed.

The three New Patriotic Party MPs include Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei and Samuel Atta Akyea.

They are MPs for Tafo Pankrono , Manhyia South and Abuakwa South constituencies.

Samuel Atta Akyea also said there seemed to be a mix-up in the understanding of their case by the court.

“It’s a travesty of justice for the simple reason that when it come to public interest litigation, it is wrong for you to make it like an ordinary litigation”, he added.
