Bank of Ghana denies issuing new denominations

The Bank of Ghana has denied issuing new denominations.

[contextly_sidebar id=”RXwIpNV0pub2j72C37W51YEW9myvnUY6″]According to the central bank’s spokesperson Esi Hammond, ‘we do not intend to issue and we have not issued any new denominations.

They are not true and Bank of Ghana is not issuing any new denomination, so everyone should take note we are not doing any such thing’. She said.

The new notes are in 200, 30 and 100 cedis denomination with that of the 200 cedis carrying a picture of the big six, the 30 cedis a picture of Kwame Nkrumah and the 100 cedis carrying both pictures.

But speaking to Citi Business News the spokesperson for the Bank of Ghana Esi Hammond denied the central bank has issued news notes.

She adds that the central bank has begun investigating the matter.

‘We don’t have plans to issue any new denomination; we are definitely investigating where these pictures are coming from’. She stressed.
