Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom of Sweden expressed Thursday in Algiers her country’s wish to further step up commercial and economic cooperation with Algeria.
“We wish to further boost our commercial and economic cooperation with Algeria, mainly through investment promotion in the two countries,” Wallstrom said in a meeting with Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra.
The Swedish official added that she broached with Lamamra several regional and international issues of common interest.
“We tackled Algeria’s role in the region and the actions we may take together within the framework of the United Nations as well as the challenges facing the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU) in addressing illegal immigration and terrorism.”
