Investment banking firm, Crystal Capital and Investments limited has launched two mutual funds that will offer Ghanaians more investment opportunities to earn higher returns that will enable them plan appropriately towards their entrepreneurial and personal financial goals.
The Mutual Funds; Crystal Entrepreneur Fund (eFund) and Crystal Wealth Fund (W-Fund) were launched at an Initial Public Offering inAccra .
Speaking to Citi Business News, the Chief Executive Officer of Crystal Capital, Mr. Martin Ofori stated that the offer will help build savings culture among Ghanaians.
“We understand that a buoyant capital market is critical in helping to develop structured products, build the right understanding and investment culture among our people to help mobilize significant investment funds as well as develop the right leverages to boost the economy,” he said.
“We at Crystal Capital have the requisite skills and space to establish funds as well as leveraging existing funds to boost the economy. The financial authorities need to recognize this by providing comprehensive support for the essential components of capital markets through increased interaction and coordination,” he added.
Mr. Ofori stated that both the eFund and Wealth Fund are low risk and have low start-up cost.
He explained that investors only need a minimum of GHS100 to invest in the eFund during the IPO and can invest with as little incremental amount as GHS20 afterwards.
He pointed out that a minimum of GHS200 is required to start investing with the Wealth Fund at the IPO stage and GHS50 required afterwards.
“The eFund is primarily designed for entrepreneurs, young people with entrepreneurial ambitions, as well as organizations that support entrepreneurial initiatives. The fund projects the capital of investors by investing in a balanced portfolio that provides very good yield,” he explained.
Outlining some benefits of the eFund, Mr. Ofori stated that Crystal Capital hopes to help entrepreneurs to achieve their business dreams without the need for loans.
“The Wealth Fund on the other hand, is designed for individuals and corporations who would like to make regular income on their investments at rates of return that are higher than those of savings,” he said.
He stated that the Wealth Fund provides security and opportunities to create wealth at one’s own pace.
