GJA delegation calls on MD of FBNBank Ghana

A two-member delegation from the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has called on the Managing Director of the FBNBank Ghana Limited to thank the management of the bank for its support towards the 70th Anniversary celebrations of the association.

The delegation was made up of Mr. Affail Monney, the President of the GJA and Linda Asante-Agyei, the Vice President of GJA.

Explaining the reason behind their visit, Mr. Affail Monney said that it was to express his gratitude and that of the association to the management of the bank, saying “this kind gesture shown to us by FBNBank Ghana will go a long way in helping the GJA organize successful 70th Anniversary celebrations and our 24th awards event.”

Receiving the delegation, Victor Yaw Asante, the MD of FBNBank Ghana reiterated FBNBank’s commitment to the welfare of journalists and the advancement of journalism in the country.

According to him, “A financial institution grows in a well-functioning democracy and thriving economy. Therefore, the journalists and for that matter the media’s role as the 4th estate of the realm is crucial and we must all support the profession to succeed.”

“We will thus continue to support the media in Ghana” he added. “We will also strive to build a strong working relationship with the GJA and its members by continually supporting you in your work because we succeed together.”

FBNBank Ghana Limited has at the centre of its banking operations, key values such as customer satisfaction, openness and transparency. These, it hopes to entrench, through strong collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders such as the media.
