As part of efforts to fight the coronavirus outbreak in the country, Oil Marketing Company (OMC), GOIL Company Limited, has donated items worth over GHS50,000 to the Police Hospital to help front line staff to fight the virus.
The items include Medical scrubs, face masks, bed sheets, veronica buckets, liquid soap, tissue, hand sanitizers and gloves.
Presenting the items, Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr. Kwame Osei Prempeh, said GOIL Company has donated similar items to other institutions including the 37 Military Hospital, Achimota Police station, GPRTU and National COVID-19 Trust Fund.
He further noted that it is part of GOIL’s corporate social responsibility and also to play an important role as a partner in the fight against the spread of the disease.
Mr. Kwame Osei Prempeh added that his company would continue to be of benefit to Ghanaians as the indigenous number one oil marketing company in the country.
“GOIL will continue to partner and collaborate with the Ghana Police service in the supply of uninterrupted supply of fuel to Police and other security vehicles” Mr. Kwame Osei Prempeh stated.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dr. Mrs. Marian Korbou, who is the Medical Director at the Police Hospital, received the items and expressed gratitude to GOIL for the kind gesture.
She said the donation has come at the right time to help the fight against COVID-19, more especially to help the frontline staff to deliver their services to the affected people.
Dr. Korbou recalled GOIL’s assistance last year to the hospital towards the rehabilitation of the Executive ward of the hospital, and thanked the company for its continuous assistance.
