Globally, businesses have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Some were compelled to shut down while others had to work with lean staff in order to continue operating.
In Ghana, one business that was also affected by the impact of the COVID-19 induced restrictions was sports betting.
The suspension of major football activities meant a significant cut in their revenue.
Many of these betting centres had to make adjustments to their operations.
It has become common practice to see no nose mask, no entry notices and a handwashing set up at premises of sports betting firms.
Some of the betting firms introduced virtual games in order to stay in business. Yet, regular patrons of sports betting centres say their livelihoods were negatively impacted by the pandemic.
But with the resumption of a number of the major football leagues, both betting companies and their customers are optimistic of a major boom in business.
