The Ghana Tourism Authority has disclosed that it has begun discussions with the Ghana Revenue Authority and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) for the reintroduction of waivers on the registration of companies for Americans of Ghanaian descent.
According to Chief Executive of the Ghana Tourism, Akwasi Agyemang, the move will serve as an incentive for Ghanaians abroad who wish to invest in the country to increase foreign Direct investments.
“Tourism enterprise is a good point for great investments. And so if people show interest in it and they don’t get certain incentives, it becomes difficult,” he said at the launch of the Marhaba Tourism Festival.
He added that the GIPC is collaborating with his outfit to organize various business summits to promote the numerous packages the government has put in place for those who invest in the country.
He, therefore, charged people in the diaspora to return home and explore business opportunities in the country.
