The Citi FM Management Development Month (#MDM2014) series is in full flight. The series, made up of both on-air and off-air events, affords listeners the opportunity to hear from experienced resource persons in Marketing, Customer Service, Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Leadership.

The series air weekdays at 9:00 am live on the Citi Breakfast Show with a repeat at 7:00pm after the Eye Witness News.

There are three main off-air events planned for the Management Development Month. They are the Business Breakfast for I.T. Entrepreneurs, Business Breakfast for Women in Entrepreneurship and Business Breakfast for Managers under 40 years.

Habiba Balogun is the director and principal consultant of Habiba Balogun Consulting Limited, an Organisation Effectiveness and HR Consultancy, and an Independent Director of ACCION Microfinance Bank.

business breakfastShe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in French and Italian from the University of London, a Masters degree in Organisational Management, including Leadership Coaching and Team Facilitation, from George Washington University, Washington DC, and is a fellow of the Aspen Leadership Network and the Africa Leadership Initiative. She is also a certified NLP Practitioner and a social commentator.

In her twenty four-year career, she has worked with clients consulting and training in the US, Europe, Africa and Asia, and all over Nigeria including the Niger-Delta.

Before establishing her own consulting firm in 2007 she progressed through various roles and industries including Banking, Manufacturing, Import-Export, Education, and Oil & Gas gaining experience and expertise in Leadership, Management, Corporate Affairs, Human Resources, Public Relations, Management Consulting, Learning & Development, Event Management, and Diversity & Inclusiveness.

She was the pioneer corporate affairs manager in Credit Lyonnais Nigeria (now Access Bank PLC). She gained start-up entrepreneurial experience with Waxtall (Customised Doormats), County Estates (Property Development), Newman (Conferencing and Consulting), and Timbuktu Media (publishers of 234NEXT). All the companies are still in operation. S

She also worked for 5 years as an internal Organisation Development consultant for Shell E&P Nigeria & Africa.

Habiba brings on board 16 years experience in Organization Development, Change & Project Management and 24 years experience in public relations, customer relations & marketing.

She will share keen insight into the challenges of organizational systems and leadership at the Business Breakfast for Women in Entrepreneurship, come Friday June 20 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.
