Aluminum Company Aluworks emerged the best performing stock on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) in the month of October.
Aluworks led gainers after increasing by about 33percent.
The month of October saw 12 companies record gains while 6 others recorded declines in share price.
Of the 12 gainers, 7 were financial stocks while 4 are into manufacturing and processing.
With just a pesewa gain, Aluworks ranked first with a 33% gain.
Its share price increased to 4 pesewas at the end of the October.
Aluworks was followed by Produce Buying Company (PBC) with a 17% gain on its share price.
PBC’s share price increased by 2 pesewas to close at 14 pesewas.
The Trust bank Gambia came 3rd with an 11% gain.
Its share price increased by 3 pesewas to close at 30 pesewas.
Benso Oil Palm continued its run with 34 pesewas gain to close the month at 4 cedis.
It placed 4th.
Cal bank and insurance firm SIC placed 5th after their share prices increased by about 8%.
Cal bank’s share price increased 7 pesewas to close at 1 cedi while SIC increased by 3pesewas to close at 43 pesewas.
GCB Bank and Standard Chartered bank came 7th while Ecobank Transnational incorporated followed taking the 8th slot.
The rest of the gainers were PZ Cussons, Guiness Ghana Breweries and Ecobank Ghana.
On the other hand, CPC led the list of decliners after it shed a pesewa which reduced its share price by 50%.
At the end of October, it was valued at a pesewa per share.
Unilever Ghana also followed after losing about 15% of its share price.
It lost 2 cedis 30 pesewas to close the month at 13 cedis 45 pesewas.
Societe General Ghana was the 3rd worst performing stock after it declined by about 9%.
It lost about 8 pesewas to close the month of October at 85pesewas.
The rest of the decliners were UT bank, Enterprise Group and Fanmilk Ghana ltd which all declined by a pesewa.
17 companies however maintained the same share price by the end of the period.
They include Aryton drugs, GOIL, HFC bank, Starwin, Mega Capital and 12 others.
