Citi Business News has learnt Vodafone Ghana has taken over the management of its call center after terminating the contract of Teletech Ghana Limited.
The call centre at high street was outsourced by Vodafone Ghana in 2010 to Teletech, a South African company.
This was to allow Vodafone concentrate on growing its customer base, improving its services and to cut down on cost amongst others.
In August this year workers at the call centre abandoned their posts over poor conditions of service.
That was not the first time the workers had embarked on a strike over poor conditions of service.
The workers who manage about 90 percent of Vodafone’s customers call – ins have been at logger heads with managers of the call centre Teletech for years over poor conditions of service.
Citi Business News’s sources revealed Vodafone Ghana terminated the contract on first November.
The telecom giant will now absorb staff of the call centre into its mainstream pool of staff.
