Massive fraud scam hits Tullow Ghana

Lead operator of the Jubilee oil field, Tullow Oil has warned the public against fraudsters who are using the company’s name to swindle people of huge amounts of money.

[contextly_sidebar id=”Xyx9KUnnrZpfB3l8UjlkDnQnyfw77kdn”]A public notice by Tullow Oil released today June 15th, 2015, cautioned the public against falling for contract award proposition scams and employment fraud.

According to Tullow Ghana, its name and identity is being used fraudulently in advanced contracts fee fraud.

The company says it has noticed that some suppliers are being approached by individuals claiming to represent Tullow Ghana limited as employees.

These fraudsters advice the victims that they are being invited to bid for a large equipment or supply contract.

They are then asked to pay a qualification or advance fee.

According to Tullow Ghana it does not seek any fees for doing business with vendors or suppliers and these fraudsters are not employees of Tullow.

The oil giant says persons who have been contacted or approached by such fraudsters must terminate all further contacts with the scammers.

The oil and gas exploration and production company says it is also aware of attempts to trick people into supplying their personal details and /or money by saying that the Tullow group will contact them about an employment offer through emails.

According to Tullow it will never ask for payment before offering employment and its recruitment process is open, transparent and fair.

Meanwhile the company has advised shareholders and potential shareholders to be cautious about unsolicited financial advice, offers to buy shares at a discount or offers of free company reports.
