Court dismisses zoobashop’s suit against CSC

A fast track high court has dismissed an application for an interlocutory injunction filed by Online Retail Shop, Zoobashop seeking to restrain the Courier Services Commission from pursuing the company to register their operations as a Courier Service Operator.

[contextly_sidebar id=”YzOlQUTd1pD2OcnPiYo2m07G2JLB04Fs”]Zoobashop in May this year sued the commission following a raid on its offices by the Commission as part of their efforts to flush out illegal courier operators; a move the company described as unlawful hence their subsequent lawsuit.

However in his ruling yesterday, the Trial Judge, Justice Emmanuel Mensah  after reviewing the law establishing the commission  said the activities by Zoobashop falls squarely within the purview of the commission  hence a dismissal of the  interlocutory application.

A cost of GHC 1000 was also awarded against Zoobashop.

Executive Secretary of the Courier Services Commission, Isaac Annan Riverson in an interview with citi business news after the ruling said they will go ahead and carry out their duties in registering all illegal courier  operators.

‘’We will get all operators in the country licensed inclusion Zoobashop but if they fail to do that, and continue operating, we will have to let the law take its course.’’ He stated
