The National Lottery Authority (NLA), has re-engaged SIMNET Ghana Ltd. (SIMNET) to provide NLA with Online Lottery Services despite an earlier rift between them.

SIMNET Ghana Limited, at the time a technical service provider for the NLA, in October 2012 withdraw its services to the authority.
SIMNET Ghana terminated its operations with the NLA because of disputes over the payment of bills for rendered services.
Over 4,000 lotto receivers went out of business for months following SIMNET’s move.
A court years later ordered the NLA to pay a debt of GH¢30 million for delayed payment of invoices with interest to SIMNET from an earlier court order.
NLA was later ordered again by an Accra High court to pay another judgment debt.
The court ordered NLA to pay the money in a second lawsuit filed by SIMNET as damages caused by the NLA for engaging the services of a French company to render the same services it contracted SIMNET to deliver.
It’s unclear how the matter panned out as both teams have remained tight lipped over the issue except for the NLA in a statement – today November 2, 2015 to say it is confident that the re-engagement of SIMNET would broaden the retailer penetration throughout the country and evidently accord its valued patrons visibility and access to NLA’s Point of Sale Terminals (POSTs) with ease.
‘NLA is confident that the re-engagement of SIMNET would broaden the Retailer penetration throughout the country and evidently accord our valued patrons visibility and access to NLA’s Point of Sale Terminals (POSTs) with ease. NLA takes this opportunity to welcome SIMNET back and promises its cherished Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs) greater efficiency designed to let their businesses thrive’.
