Databank Group has been adjudged the investment company of the year 2014.
[contextly_sidebar id=”3Et8exRS2EL0sSn4GvxK1avEkAVSLNxN”]The company, beat off competition from 19 other brokerage firms who were assessed for their performances during the year 2014.
Gold coast securities and First Banc financial services followed as silver and bronze winners respectively.
Chief Executive of Databank, Kojo Addae-Mensah in an interview with Citi Business News however bemoaned how their operations have been affected by the prevailing economic challenges.
“It’s been okay but it could be better. As you know, we get a lot of income from our foreign partners and they keep telling us we are not sure where the economy is going. Even though our partners are willing to invest in Ghana, when the signals are not really good, it is sad.” He said.
Mr. Addae-Mensah further noted, “The worst signal they could have sent to us was the policy rate increase but in the last three months I must admit that the exchange rate has been stable which is good for us.”
