Algeria’s Gas Production Expected to Boom As From 2018

Algeria’s gas production is expected to boom as from 2018, after years of stagnation thanks to the entry into production of several gas fields in the south-west of the country, said the US Energy Information Administration.

In its analysis report on the Algerian energy sector, this administration coming under the American Department of Energy, anticipates an increase of the Algerian gas supply of one trillion cubic feet or more as from 2018.

According to the Energy Information Administration, gas production increased to 6.6 trillion cubic feet in 2014, up 4% compared to 2013.

The increase was recorded after a series of falls which followed the peak of 7.1 trillion cubic feet reached in 2008 and the return to production of Tiguentourine complex of In Amenas.
