Goil Ghana Limited has outdoored boxing legend “Professor” Azumah Nelson as a brand ambassador for the company.
A ceremony which was held in Accra to announce the decision brought together Board Members of the company and some sports enthusiasts.
Speaking to Citi Business News in an interview, the Managing Director of Goil Ghana, Mr. Patrick Arkoli stated that the partnership with the former three-time world boxing champion will encourage Ghanaians to patronize Goil products.
“Goil is following the tradition of celebrating what is good about Ghana”, he said adding that “the partnership will radiate every corner and make the country proud”.
According to him, the move is also targeted at increasing Goil share in the Oil Marketing retail sector of the economy to protect the local interest of ordinary Ghanaians in pricing the commodity.
On his part, Azumah Nelson expressed gratitude to the company for making him an ambassador.
‘Goil is a shining example of Ghanaian institutions showing leadership in their sector” , he said, adding that “I am proud to be associated with the brand”.
He used the occasion to urge Ghanaians to support local companies by patronizing “made-in-Ghana” products.
