Oracle Ghana launches new Ghana office space (Photos)

Oracle Ghana has launched its new office space in Accra.

The move is to allow easy working experience among workers.

This is the first official office by Oracle although they have been in Ghana for the past 20 years.

The office also aims to further Oracle’s Cloud Portfolio expansion throughout the country, and also to provide sales and consulting services to the region.

Country Manager for Oracle Ghana, Joseph Assumang in his welcome speech said “As a global technology leader, Oracle is committed to innovation, leadership and excellence, and has invested more than US$39billion in research and development since 2004.”

“Our technology has built on open industry standard, and one way that Oracle’s engineers drive innovation is by participating in standards-setting organizations”, he added.

Leader for Sub- Saharan Africa, Cherian Varghese added that the new facility represents the growth of the company’s business in Ghana as it continues to invest in its people and their personal development to best serve customers.

As part of measures to give back to society in an educational form, Oracle Academy in Ghana has trained more than 45 educators from nine Universities in database design, programming and Java programming.

The Oracle Academy has also trained children between ages of eight and fourteen on ‘Alice’, a tool designed to give young people their first exposure to programming.

Oracle Ghana spends US$5 billion every year on research and development to upgrade technology.

Oracle Ghana has employed 90% of Ghanaians to work in their branch at airport to minimize unemployment situation in Ghana and also as a means to show appreciation for the warm reception Ghanaians have depicted.

The office is located at Airport in Accra.
