Minister of Transport Boudjemaà Talai announced Tuesday in Djelfa (275km southwest of Algiers), that the railway projects which are under construction in the province total 320km and make up 10% of the national programme of 2,300 km.
Hosting a news conference at the end of his working and inspection visit to Djelfa, the minister said that the railway projects have tremendous importance in this province, for their economic and social role as they will facilitate transport of passengers and goods from and to this strategic province.
He added that the railway projects achieved by Algerian companies and officials will allow the creation of a dry port and a logistics platform, likely to give new impetus to the national economy.
During his visit to Djelfa, the minister inspected the concrete ties production unit in Hassi Bahbah (50 km north of Djelfa).
Talai said that this recently commissioned plant is s a true asset likely to boost the local production.
