Sudan: Finance Minister Participated in a Conference of Government Investment Funds in Rabat

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Badr-Eddin Mahmoud has been participating in the business of the Second Annual Conference of the Government Investment Funds of the member states at the Islamic Development Bank Group, which kicked off Tuesday in the Morocco’s Capital, Rabat and lasts for two days.

The conference will discuss the experiences of member states in the field of development financing through government sukuk and investment funds. The exchange of experiences among countries in the field of Islamic finance and budget deficit financing from real resources. Will also be tackled during the conference.

The minister would review Sudan’s experience in the field of Islamic financial securities and financing of development projects through them and through domestic investment funds.

The minister would also forward models on the Food Security Initiative’s Projects to be financed in the context of achieving the goals of the five-year program including agro-processing, livestock production, horticulture and electrification of agricultural projects.

It is to be recalled that the conference is annually be held in one of the member states and in which of experiences are exchanged in the field of Islamic finance.
