MTN Ghana, the country’s largest Telco in terms of subscribers, has finally launched its 4G LTE internet services.
This follows successful regional tests run of the network to ensure the telecom provider will deliver efficient and reliable services to its customers
In December 2015 the National Communications Authority (NCA) announced MTN Ghana as the winner of one lot of 2×10MHz spectrum in the 4G LTE-suitable 800MHz mobile band.
The regulator had previously set a minimum reserve price of USD67.5 million, noting the licence will be valid for 15 years.
In April 2016, MTN revealed that it was going to spend some 18 million dollars in the rollout of its 4G technology, with LTE.
MTN, Ghana’s leading mobile voice and data telecommunications service provider, has affirmed its commitment to deploy technology to ensure increased access to the benefits of the digital age for Ghanaians.
