As part of moves to increase investment opportunities in the Agriculture sector, the African Agribusiness Incubators Network(AAIN) will be organizing a conference to facilitate the growth of agriculture in Accra on October 4, 2016.
The conference seeks to exhibit and showcase agricultural products and opportunities derived from sector.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra, the Director, Business Development and Partnerships of the AAIN, Peter Kuria Githinji said although agriculture is a potential world generation changer, investors shy away from it.
Mr. Githinji advised that investors must endeavor to build capacity to provide financial aid to the agribusiness to boost the agric sector.
He added that the youth must also endeavor to be innovative to excel in the agribusiness.
“We are not innovative enough. The youth must device new modules of innovativeness to bring on board new ideas for the benefit of the sector. This is the only way the sector can improve. The opportunity is there, inter-trade and market your ideas and the sector will excel,” he said.
He further urged African countries to partner each other in the agribusiness to strengthen relationship ties in agribusiness goals.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Alhassan Ahmed Yakubu pledged government’s full support for the initiative.
He emphasized the need for Africa to endeavor to make agribusiness “the next big thing” whiles coming together to work for a common goal.
The conference will be held from 4th to 6th October, 2016.
