Fidelity Bank has presented prizes to the winners of its ‘save for gold promotion’ at a ceremony in Accra.
The three customers; Festus Armoh Nweamah, from the Market Circle branch in Takoradi, Mary Tumpi of the Nungua branch and Sezan Houenou Elisee of Ridge Towers branch, were presented with 1kg, ½ kg and 250 grams each of 24 carat gold bar respectively.
The ‘Save for Gold promo’ was a 6 month long campaign aimed at inculcating the habits of saving among Ghanaians, especially, the banks customers while rewarding them with gold prizes.
Presenting the prizes, Deputy MD of Fidelity Bank, Jim Baiden expressed the bank’s commitment to strive to meet the needs of the customers as it stands competition with over 30 more commercial banks in the country.
“Customers like you have believed in us all the way and selected us as your preferred bank all these years. We do appreciate the fact that there are probably 30 other banks out there and yet you chose fidelity as your preferred bank and that without you we wouldn’t have come this far,” he stated.
Mr. Baiden also highlighted the bank’s innovative strategy of using inclusive banking to attract a majority of the unbanked population in the country.
“There are about 15 million registered voters but we found out that not more than 5 million people who are eligible voters have a bank account…we put together our inclusive banking strategy to reach out to those people and bring them an opportunity to experience banking and open a savings or current account and plan for the future,” he remarked.
An elated Festus Armoh Nweamah commended the bank for the reward and was hopeful the move will go a long way to strengthen his working relationship with the bank.
