Mantrac Ghana limited has graduated eight students for the caterpillar technicians for Africa Project.
The project is a free online program for Africans seeking a career as service technicians.
The program which was launched in November 2016 has over 350 students enrolled with the first set of eight students receiving certification to begin their career as service technicians.
Mantrac Ghana’s product support manager, Graham Dickinson says the training is an opportunity for technicians who wish to work with Mantrac Ghana to go through the process to equip them to deliver satisfactory services.
“Service technicians work inside mechanic shops, auto dealerships, heavy equipment dealerships and other garages to diagnose and repair equipment. The technicians who graduated from our training school have strengthened the overall technical knowledge within the Ghanaian Power Generation, Construction and Mining industries” he said.
He added that the project is also an opportunity for the ministry of education to empower the newly upgraded technical universities to better prepare its graduates for the job market.
Mantrac Ghana is the sole authorized caterpillar dealer in Ghana.
The company has supplied and supported caterpillar products in many sectors of the Ghanaian economy such as construction, mining, forestry, material handling and power generation.
