GGBL optimistic of growth in 2018

Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited (GGBL) has expressed optimism about its growth potential for the year 2018.

The company says it’s expecting double digit growth for its brands next year.

According to its financial reports, GGBL managed to achieve growth in total revenue for the year ended June 2017.

GGBL churned out total revenue of GHS 587,447,000 during the period; this represents a 3.7% revenue growth from the GHS 566,308,000 recorded in the same period in 2016.

In taking steps to improve the quality of their offerings, while facilitating the growth of their brands , GGBL earlier this year indicated, they had invested over GHC1 million to ensure quality and consistent supply of sorghum, which is used in the production of many of their premium brands.

Speaking to Citi Business News on the sidelines of the launch of the Star Win Gold Promotion, Marketing and Innovations Director of GGBL Melanie Ramsey stated that the company is strategically growing its brands.

“We’ll continue to market and grow all of our brands in 2018.We’ll be strategic about our consumer targeting and channel choices. You can expect absolutely double digit growths in the coming year”.

The new national consumer promotion, Star Win Gold Promotion will run for three months from December 2017 till February 2018. Star Beer consumers will be offered the opportunity to win over GHc3 million worth of prizes including gold bars and hundreds of thousands of free bottles of Star Beer.
