Martin Eson-Benjamin appointed interim MiDA CEO

A former Chief Executive Officer  of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), Mr. Martin Eson-Benjamin, has been reappointed to head the Authority as an interim CEO.

Mr. Eson-Benjamin, was the CEO of MiDA during the implementation of the Compact 1 which saw the construction of the N1 Highway.

He acts as Interim CEO with effect from December 5, 2017 until a new CEO is appointed.

A statement issued by the Authority stated that the outgoing CEO, Ingineer Owura K. Safo has agreed mutual separation as Mr. Eson-Benjamin takes over.

The statement added that “Mr. Martin Eson-Benjamin brings a unique set of skills and expertise to MiDA having successfully implemented Compact 1 within the five year period from 2007 to 2012 and ensured that over 95% of the grant funds were disbursed on project investments in Ghana”.

He achieved this feat on the back of a solid track record in the private sector, having previously performed Executive roles at Unilever Ghana and the Ghana Breweries Limited.

“MiDA looks forward to continuing to work with its various stakeholders to deliver the Compact for the people of Ghana,” the statement said.

MiDA is currently implementing the Power Compact II which will see the private sector participation in the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
