Pharmaceutical company, Dannex Ayrton and Starwin, has donated some medical supplies to the Tesano division of the Ghana Police Service.
The presentation forms part of what the company says is its contribution to society.
The support is also aimed at supporting the operations of the Ghana Police Service.
Presenting the items to the police service, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for Dannex Ayrton and Starwin, Kwesi Yirenkyi said, “We all know there’s been an upsurge in crime in our communities of late so the police need all the resources it can muster to fight crime”.
He added, “So we at Dannex Ayrton Starwin as part of our responsibilities to our community are handing over these bikes as our widows mite to support the effort of the police”.
Mr Yirenkyi expressed was confident that the donations will go a long way to help the police in its fight against crime.
“We hope they’ll go a long way to help curb such crimes and make our communities safe for all of us”
“In addition we present medicines worth more than three thousand Ghana cedis to the commander for his men and women.”
Meanwhile in an interview with Citi News, the Tesano Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Oduro Amening said the service requires more logistics to increase police visibility across the nation.
“The police service administration in general is doing its best to equip us but it will be of great benefit to us if the general public can help us acquire more equipment”, he said
Mr. Amening explained that so that additional equipment will positively boost the operations of the police
“When we have more equipment every corner within the country will have the presence of a police man with a motor bike or a vehicle, and we believe with this even our presence alone will deter the criminals.”
