Figures published by research firms in the cosmetic industry have shown that as at 2016, the global cosmetic market grew by an estimated four percent in comparison to the previous year (2015).
This translated into millions of dollars for players in the industry.
In the cosmetic industry, skincare, hair care, make-up, perfumes, toiletries and deodorants, and oral cosmetics are the main product categories of the cosmetic market.
But amongst them, skincare is the leading cosmetic product, accounting for about 36 percent of cosmetics on the global market.
Some observers have however maintained that Ghana is yet to take advantage of the industry to create more jobs from the sector.
