The business of scrap dealing has been in existence for over 30 years in Ghana.
Its viability is dependent on the activities of agents who go round collecting scrap material and sell it to companies.
On an average a scrap dealer can make between twenty and fifty cedis a day in Accra with all the dangers associated with their work.
Scrap dealers believe they play important roles in cleaning the environment by aggregating waste electronic products for recycling as iron rods. But they say their efforts is overlooked.
