The Registrar-General Jemima Oware has expressed satisfaction with the ruling by the National Media Commission (NMC), directing investigative journalist Emmanuel Kosi Senyo to retract and apologise to the registrar.
The NMC directed the journalist and Editor of the Awake newspaper, Emmanuel Efo Kosi Senyo, to retract and apologise to the Registrar-General, Jemima Oware following his publication of a story in which he cited the Registrar General of colluding in the allocation of dividends to some beneficiaries of a Will.
The commission, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh, ruled that the series of publications by the journalist have needlessly and baselessly brought the office of the Registrar General into disrepute.
In an interview with Citi Business News, Mrs. Oware said the ruling by the NMC was a just one.
“I have accepted the Ruling of the NMC, and I will leave it at that. I am not going to push for anymore retraction or apology from him. The NMC has done a very good job and I appreciate what they did. The important thing is he got it all wrong and my case has been proved” she explained.
