Three years of excellence: The #WearGhana ‘GIGI’ journey

Three years ago, we changed our business model, transitioning from making bespoke clothing to producing our first retail collection – GIGI – and in so doing transforming Ghanaian fashion.

We are proof it’s possible to succeed in this market producing relatively lower-priced ready-to-wear outfits and focus on pushing volumes. Also, we have shown that there is a huge market for African-themed smart-casual wear.

While many fashion brands believe every customer wants to look totally different from other customers, we believe that in everyone is a sense of wanting to belong…to be a part of THE group.

GIGI is undoubtedly Ghana’s most identifiable fashion collection, but it’s more than just that. It’s a movement. It’s a family. It’s a statement. It’s proof that Africans are capable of world-class excellence. And Ghana has responded well. You have responded excellently.

On the occasion of GIGI’s 3rd anniversary, we want to thank you for your overwhelming support. We want to thank those who own 30 pieces of GIGIs, and we want to celebrate those who are on the verge of acquiring their first GIGIs.

We thank those who have promoted us on social media and beyond. We thank those who have brought us business and opened doors for us. And we thank everyone who believes in us.

It is time to take on the rest of Africa. Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Gabon…here we come.
