The Board of Trustees of the Barbados Ghana Business Chamber has launched the Barbados Ghana Business Chamber in Accra.
The chamber is to, among others, grow the business relationship between Ghana and Barbados, promote trade, including import and export opportunities for the business communities of both countries as well as facilitate skills and knowledge share between the two countries.
Speaking at the press launch, Chairman of the Barbados Ghana Business Chamber, Lawrence Akosen said he is hopeful of great prospects between the two countries.
“Our main aim as a chamber is to establish and grow business relationships between Ghana and Barbados among others. Already, the chamber has done some exploratory work with some institutions including GEPA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, GIPC, the Ghana Tourism Authority, Association of Ghana Industries among others. We have also established a relationship with industry leaders in entertainment and manufacturing” he explained.
Meanwhile, Director of Corporate Communications at the Ghana Standards Authority Dr. Kofi Amponsah-Bediako, in a solidarity message to the chamber said “we will be helping to intensify business growth between the two countries and this can come through business promotion.
The two countries can study each other’s imports and exports such as consumer goods, machinery, foodstuff, chemicals, and electrical products as well as minerals like gold and many others”.
