MPC keeps policy rate at 16 percent; fourth time running

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Ghana has decided to maintain the policy rate at 16 percent — for the fourth time running.

Chairman of the MPC, Dr. Ernest Addison who announced the decision in Accra explained that the policy rate was kept unchanged as a precautionary measure to allow the bank to rein in inflation which could inch up on the back of a recent increase in transport prices.
