George Aboagye, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), has died at the Cape Coast Regional Hospital in the Central Region following a short illness.
He served as the CEO of the nation’s investment promotion agency under the Mills’ administration between 2009 and 2012.
He was to have turned 70 years on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, when he died early Monday morning.
He left behind a wife and four children.
He was the former National Democratic Congress’ Member of Parliament for Ahanta West Constituency in the Western Region, and the current Parliamentary Candidate for that constituency.
Speaking to Citi News, the Western Regional Secretary of the NDC, Joseph Nelson, said they have heard of his demise, but are yet to be officially informed by the family.
