In support of government’s drive to leverage on technology to overcome many of the country’s developmental challenges and to formalize the economy, a new fintech company, Dnar Inc., has introduced a faster, reliable and more secured payment system to craftsmen and producers of artwork at the Accra Arts Centre.
The new payment system, which enables transactions to be made possible within 3 seconds, uses QR codes unique to an account holder to make transaction payments instantly and more effective by way of scanning.
Speaking to Citi Business News at a demonstration exercise on how the QR payment system works and how to generate the QR code, the Chief Executive Officer of Dnar Inc., Enoch Antwi, said he is happy to help government in its commitment to go digital as this move by the company paves way for the speedy realization of a cashless Africa.
“Dnar helps replace Point of Sale devices with QR code. This is a useful process because it is about time Ghanaian businesses experience a more robust, faster and secured payment system,” he said.
He noted that although the scope of the project is huge, it is imperative to start from the grassroots level with events and businesses like these, adding that he looks forward to helping businesses expand by the use of the safest, easiest and most secured way of paying for transactions.
He also commended the merchants for being early adopters of technology, and urged all businesses to adopt swifter and safest payment methods which Dnar mobile app enables.
“Merchants at the art center have shown keen interest in using the app and are vigorously getting on board. They believe the app will massively have positive impact on their business especially because they usually trade with expatriates and those from the diaspora who frequent the center.
The Dnar mobile wallet is an interoperable app which allows users to make payment to any mobile money account.
Users can also transfer money from the Dnar wallet to another Dnar wallet. The app can be installed from google play store or apple store.
