Ghana’s confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus has increased to 9,168.
This is according to the Ghana Health Service, GHS, on Thursday June 5, 2020.
The update shows that two hundred and eighty-three new cases have been detected since the last update on June 4.
Meanwhile, 3,457 persons have recovered after 268 persons recovered from the virus.
Also, the death toll has risen to 42 as four more deaths have been recorded.
There are currently 5,669 active cases.
The new cases were recorded in six (6) out of the sixteen regions of Ghana.
Out of the 283 new cases, 103 cases were recorded from the Greater Accra Region, 66 from the Ashanti Region, 63 from the Western Region, 28 from the Eastern Region, 16 from the Volta Region and 7 from the Central Region.
Regional breakdown
The Greater Accra Region is still leading the chart with 6,205 cases, followed by the Ashanti and Western Regions with 1,518 and 519 cases respectively.
