The grand finale of the season one of the Livingfields AgriChallenge will air on Saturday, June 13, on Citi TV from 9:00pm to 10:00pm.
The AgriChallenge, which premiered on Citi TV on March 12, 2020 is an agricultural reality show aimed at encouraging graduates to venture into agriculture.
Twelve trainees were admitted to the program and camped on a farm in Asutsuare in the Eastern Regionm to engage and compete in agricultural activities.
Speaking to Citi Business News, the Commercial Manager for RMG Ghana Limited, Martin Tettey Nertey Junior, said even though the prizes are rewarding, the focus of the programme is to encourage the youth to venture into agriculture.
“The team that emerges winners will take a total prize package of GHS 100,000. This includes a cash prize of GHS 20,000 and input packages (seeds, fertilizer and crop protection products) from RMG Ghana for the team to begin production on their own,” he said.
He added that the second placed team will receive cash and items worth GHS 60,000 which includes a cash prize of GHS 10,000 and input packages from RMG Ghana Ltd.
“The 3rd prize is made up of GHS 25,000 with a cash prize component of GHS 5,000 and input packages. The final prize is input packages from RMG Ghana Ltd. to the tune of GHS 15,000,” Mr. Nertey said.
In addition, participants will go on trip packages to Germany, South Africa, and the Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort, Ghana.
