Bayport grants scholarships to 20 brilliant but needy students

Bayport Savings and Loans has awarded full educational scholarships to 20 brilliant but needy students selected from across the country as part of its corporate social responsibility.

The beneficiaries comprising eleven males and nine females in primary, junior and senior high and tertiary institutions were shortlisted from a total of 84 applications received from Bayport’s customers across the country

Chief Executive Officer of the company, Akwasi Aboagye, said that gesture was a way of contributing to the educational needs of people in the various communities in which the business operate, adding that the success of any business is dependent on the support of the community.

“At Bayport, we believe education is the bedrock of societal development and as such we are committed to supporting and contributing to the success of students,” he added.

The CEO congratulated all 20 students and urged them to prioritize their education as Bayport cushions them with the financial support.

The scholarship package according Chief Commercial Officer at Bayport Savings and Loans, Allen Jubin, include tuition fees, accommodation and books of the students.

He further stated: “It is our hope that this initiative will form part of the students’ success stories when it comes to education.”

Bayport Scholarship Scheme recipients for 2022/2023 include Adolf Abayema Aganwime – Tower of Grace Academy; Afoah Tracy Anyemeeng- University of Ghana; Asante Derrick – Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology; Badebagna Helena Mwintero, – University of Natural and Energy Resources; Christopher Denu – Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology; Daniel Kwame Walker – University of Cape Coast; and Dugbley Benjamin Selorm, University of Cape Coast.

The rest are: Jennifer Mensimah Assibu – University of Cape Coast; Kobina Akofi-Holison – Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology; Konama Gloria -Berekum College of Education; Mavis Oppong, – University of Ghana; Maxwell Ntiamoah – Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology; Nicklyn Kwadwo Atura – University of Ghana; Nkogubo Hosniatu Nwadei – Ancilla School.

Concluding the list are: Osafo Elizabeth Appiah, University of Ghana; Prince Eduboah, – Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology; Racheal Akuta Awinpoka, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology; Rodger Macscott-Lutterodt – University of Allied Students (UHAS); Sylvia Poupleka Tang – KNUST-Obuasi Campus; and Tuah Kwabena Hayford – Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
