Rana Motors has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art vehicle assembly plant at Amasaman in the Ga West Municipality.
This brings the total number of vehicle assembly plants in the country to five.
The facility occupies 13.5 hectares of land and has an operational capacity of 30,000 cars annually, expected to rise to 70,000 when it operates at full capacity.
President Akufo Addo who graced the opening in his address lauded the efforts being made by the private sector towards national development and assured of an enabling environment.
“This investment by Rana Motors is a strong indication of the private sector’s support for the industrialization agenda,” he said.
“I want to assure you all private sector players of that government will continue to introduce sector-specific policy intervention and an enabling environment for businesses to survive and strive,” he assured.
Speaking on the sidelines of the official opening of the ultra-modern assembly plant , Chief Operating Officer of Rana Motors, Kassem Odaymat noted that, Rana Motors will capitalize on incentives promised by government to boost its production in Ghana.
“Once the full implementation of the policy of zero-rated is put in place, it will make it more attractive. Our prices will be competitive because it is exempted from a lot of taxes,” he said.
“With the financial schemes that will be in place set by government and different institutions to fund everybody who will want to buy a vehicle assembled in Ghana,” he added.
