As part of efforts to ensure stakeholders within the procurement and and logistics industry are equipped with the necessary tools to work efficiently, Maxwell Investments Group have collaborated with the African Institute of Sanitation and Waste Management to build the capacity of some businesses within the sector.
The move, according to the companies is also part of efforts to ensure economic growth.
Speaking on the sidelines of a training program for the first cohort of stakeholders, Head of Corporate Affairs at the Jospong Group of companies, Sophia Kudjordji said, “We realise there is a lot of training for people in all areas, so we decided to collaborate with Maxwell Investment Group to take up this training on logistics and procurement. This is just the first part of the training.
There are other trainings that will come up because of what they are into and with the way the world is going its not about transactional business, but it is about relationship building. We need to work with each other to work as partners to push the agenda of getting our people ready for what the world has to offer.
For the Head of Sales and Marketing at the African Institute of Sanitation and Waste Management, Fazia Raman, this is part of her outfit’s corporate sustainability project.
“Maxwell Investment Group’s main line of business is into Logistics, exports and they want to build the capacity of all their drivers or their players in their ecosystem, people that work on their projects. They are a strong partner to Jospong so they decided to train all the stakeholders on their businesses in this supply value chain but there are other beneficiaries as well who are not part of the ecosystem so it’s like a CSR project to boost the capacity of logistics and procurement professionals,” she said.
Procurement and logistics management are critical to the successful operation of any organisation. Both functions can drive economic growth by improving efficiency and effectiveness in the supply chain process.
When procurement processes are streamlined and optimised it leads to cost savings for organisations hence the short course on procurement and logistics is designed to provide participants with an indept understanding of the principles and practices.
