Miners to finalize Obuasi mine layoffs with Anglogold

Citi Business News has learnt that the Ghana Mine Workers Union will be finalizing discussions with  the leadership of Anglogold Ashanti on some recent developments in the company in the next three days.

The discussion is expected to exhaust negotiations on the planned retrenchment of almost all staff of AngloGold at its Obuasi concession in the Ashanti Region .

Also top on the agenda is Anglogold Ashanti’s move to set up a new company to run its operations in Ghana and how it will buy isotretinoin research chemical impact mine workers in the company.

According to Citi Business News sources the mine workers have already been assured the operational changes will not affect their services.

Anglogold Ashanti like many other mining companies has over the past three years recorded some loses due to a plunge in global gold prices among others.
