ICU intervenes in Golden Tulip workers’ struggle

The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) is currently leading negotiations with the management of Golden tulip hotel, following workers agitation over poor salaries and conditions of service.

This comes after the hotel in a statement lamented the failure of the mother union to intervene and address the impasse.

[contextly_sidebar id=”Qjhkw5onlzeD4FiLP8A2lEqSY8OGwEEo”]According to the management of the hotel, reports claiming that its workers are operating under poor working conditions are false.

The General Secretary of ICU, Solomon Kotei told Citi Business News, a road map has been drawn to settle the impasse.

The road map indicates that a collective agreement and the Labour Act must strictly be adhered to in all further negotiations.

He said all parties have assured the National Labour Commission (NLC) of their commitment to resolve the impasse.

“The case itself also travelled to the labour commission where both ICU and management gave them our word that the two parties are really dialoging on our issues,” stressed.
