Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Ebenezer Twum Asante disclosed this when he addressed a ceremony to officially launch MTN’s ultra modern office complex, MTN House in Accra.
“There is not a single sector of business, lifestyle or the economy that cannot reap benefits of efficiency and increased productivity with enhanced use of telecommunications. With our recently acquired 4G license, we hope to make even greater inroads by enhancing customer experience with increased speeds and greater innovations and thereby put Ghana on the global digital map.” MTN Ghana CEO, Ebenezer Asante Twum noted.
For his part, President John Mahama reiterated government’s commitment towards improving infrastructure for the telecommunications industry.
He further urged mobile telecom operators on the need to ensure charges for their services reflect a value for money.
“The number of mobile and fixed internet subscribers have also gone beyond the 17 million mark. Ghanaians have following the phenomenal growth of mobile and IT services, developed a huge appetite for good quality and reliable services over a relatively short period. Service providers must therefore work to meet the demands of subscribers and reduce the call drop rate, fix competitive prices and provide exceptional customer service.” President Mahama observed.
