Domestic airline operator, Africa World Airlines, has launched its flight from Kumasi to Tamale.
According to the company, the move followed the numerous concerns from customers and a realization of huge market for the flight.
Prior to this, passengers had to fly to the nation’s capital, Accra before embarking on a flight to Tamale.
But the Head of commercial of AWA, Richard Kyereh tells Citi Business News, the new service will lessen the burden and cost borne by passengers.
The new service which commenced on April 1, will involve four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays which will be on the airline’s Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft.
The flight departs the Kumasi Airport at 10:25 am and arrives in Tamale at 11:15 am. It subsequently leaves Tamale Airport at 11:45 am and arrives in Kumasi at 12:35 pm.
The introductory fare for the new service is GH¢199.00 tax inclusive.
