Elections will not affect investment- Togbe Afede XIV

As the day for the elections draws closer, businessman, and president of the Ghana National House of Chiefs Togbe Afede  XIV is optimistic business activities will not be distracted.

According to him, even though some investors may hold on to their funds in anticipation of the results, most of them have already made substantial investment in the country by the second quarter of the year.

Speaking to Citi Business News, at the launch of the Ghana Israel Chamber of  Commerce,  Togbe Afede the XIV stated that it is imperative for government to maintain peace for investors to retain their investment after the elections.

Expressing optimism, he stated that most investors have already made substantial investments in the country, hence the period will not experience any drop in investment

“The good news is the elections are only a few days away so they will be over very soon and like you I know not withstanding all the tension it will come to pass very successfully and peacefully,” he said.

He maintained that it is important to maintain an atmosphere of peace since investors will not invest in politically unstable countries.

“Development is the important thing that people need. It is the most important desire. Development can only take place when there is an atmosphere of peace,” he said.
