Former Republic Bank MD Asare Akuffo passes on

Former Managing Director of Republic Bank, Asare Akufo has died. He said to have died yesterday, a source close to the family told Citi Business News.

Mr. Asare Akuffo was the MD of Republic Bank, formerly HFC Bank, for close to 10 years.

His contract with the bank ended in June 2015 which saw him retire as well.

But prior to that, Mr. Akuffo requested to leave before that date to take up his accumulated holidays.

Mr. Asare Akuffo joined HFC bank in 1990 having worked as an investment manager at the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

He was appointed Finance Director in 1995 and later the Deputy Managing Director in 2003 when HFC converted to a bank.
