S.O Frimpong Transport (SOFT) has been adjudged the winner for the fourth consecutive time, the Vivo Energy Ghana Transporter Award in 2018. The company won the award in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 under review.
S.O Frimpong beat off competition from J.K Ahiadome Transport and J.K Horgle to win the coveted honour.
The Vivo Energy Ghana Transporters’ Award is held annually to honour transporters who undertake high-risk activities in transporting Vivo’s products including white oils, aviation fuel, bitumen and lubricants to consumers across Ghana.
Addressing dignitaries at the award ceremony, Vivo Energy Ghana Managing Director, Ben Hassan Ouattara, said the company was excited to be honouring its partners who play critical roles in successfully transporting Shell’s quality products across the country during the past years without any incident.
He said Vivo Energy continues to make investments into Health, Safety, Security and the Environment (HSSE) compliance including training and adoption of the best safety practices to improve performance.
Instructively, the three transporters for the past nine years, have travelled a distance of nearly 56 million kilometres without a single accident.
He said it, therefore, came as no surprise that S.O Frimpong Transport scored 5.50/5.50 with J.K Ahiadome and J.K Horgle achieving a mark of 5.49/5.49 in the 2019 Global Haulier Assessment Programme, run by the Vivo Energy Group
The Executive Director of the National Road Safety Commission, Mrs May Obiri-Yeboah, commended S.O Frimpong and the other award winners for their contribution to road safety and urged them to continue to practice safe driving.
Managing Director of S.O Frimpong Transport, Mr Randy Frimpong, said the success for winning the awards consecutively for four years is due to the company’s strong management system and the top class training giving to drivers.
